Install and first launch

One file per system. No account, no registration.

macOS

1. Download CamHeard.dmg from the download page.
2. Open the image and drag CamHeard into Applications.
3. Launch it from Launchpad or Spotlight. The build is signed and notarised with Apple, so there will be no security warnings.

Windows

1. Download CamHeard.exe from the download page.
2. Run the installer and go through the steps.
3. Launching it again while the window is already open simply brings that window to the front instead of opening a second copy.

First launch

An empty window opens with a Drop footage here area. No licence key is needed at this point: the first 14 days are the full version, after that the free version handles projects up to 20 clips. More on the Trial, free version and licence page.

After the first real sync the app asks once whether it may send anonymised sync reports. What is in them and what is not is described on the Problem report page.

Updates

The app checks for a new version by itself and shows it in the top bar. How that works and what the Restart to update button does is described on the Updates page.
